Making Waves - Golden Black Trax Artist Name: Various Artists Description: Making Waves – Golden Blak Trax is a compilation release featuring some of Australia’s leading Indigenous contemporary music artists from the 80s and 90s. This is the third release in the Making Waves series following up from Making Waves Hip Hop and Making Waves Singer Songwriters. It features some of Australia’s greatest bands and musicians such as Warumpi Band, Archie Roach, Yothu Yindi, Kev Carmody, Coloured Stone, Pigram Brothers, Christine Anu and many more. These songs are an important reflection and statement of the Indigenous experience of the late 20 century and have become an important part of Australia’s cultural history as well as anthems for the Australian Indigenous community. These artists are pioneers who broke Australian Indigenous music into the mainstream and helped paved the way for the next generation of Indigenous contemporary artists such as those on the first two Making Waves CDs.
