Former AFL star, Robert DiPierdomenico, was suspended recently from his AFL ambassador duties over a racial slur on Aboriginal man and AFL star, Gavin Wanganeen. Since then Dipper has been meeting Aboriginal groups across the country in an effort to make amends. It is well known that our people come into contact with the police far too often than other young Australians. This was highlighted in an incident where a young Aboriginal boy in Western Australia was charged for possession of stolen goods. The 'stolen goods' were a Freddo Frog and a novelty sign. A number of Aboriginal boys, taken from their families, were placed in Kempsey's Kinchela Boys Home on the NSW north coast. Many still suffer from the mistreatment they suffered at the hands of those who were supposed to be their "carers". Years later, the former residents along with Pastor Ray Minniecon, have developed a corporate strategic plan to help heal their scars. Blackchat broadcasted live from the Redfern ceremony that launched the plan.
