I grew up in Sydney and the bush in Wiradjuri country and studied Communications at Canberra University.
I’ve worked in journalism, marketing and education, joining Koori Radio in 1995 as a broadcaster for the test transmissions before we gained our fulltime license.
The places I’ve worked in Sydney include UNSW (Editor, Australian Indigenous Law Reporter); UTS (Lecturer, Aboriginal People and the Media); NAISDA and as Communications Consultant at the Australia Council for the Arts.
For the past 10 years I’ve been with the Powerhouse Museum in a variety of roles across curatorial and education, including the last three years as Manager of Education.
My exhibitions/publications include Sharing a Wailwan story; Bayagul: contemporary Indigenous communication and Our place: Indigenous Australia now, the latter for the 2004 Athens Cultural Olympiad.
I joined the Board of Gadigal Information Service in 2000 and have served as Secretary and Public Officer.
After an 18 month break, I’ve rejoined the Board and am glad to be back as we enter an exciting new phase in the development of the organisation.
In a city as large as Sydney we need a strong and vibrant Koori media/arts organisation as a focus for the community and to broadcast our voices to the rest of the world.
I am currently the Editorial Director for Vibe Australia.

I am a Biripi descendant from the Hawke's Nest area on the mid north coast of NSW. I believe in my culture, customs, lore and people. I have a strong connection with country and a commitment to respect for land, water, people and air. My totems are shark and turtle.
I grew up in Balmain in the 50’s and 60’s.
I am a Mother and Grandmother amongst many other roles and labels.
I have a strong commitment to the advancement of Aboriginal people gaining equality and respect. I believe that it is important for our future that young Aboriginal people are supported in gaining skills in advocacy for the future. I believe it is important to share stories and help each other in life where we can.
I maintain an ongoing trepidation about the environment and the abuse of natural resources.
What will be left for the future generations.

As Treasurer of Gadigal for years, many would have noticed that my experience has been in the financial area, but I want to bring not just that expertise. I want to use my passion to build on what previous Governing Committees have done. They have set the foundation for an organisation what has helped your community and I want to make sure we build on this, so that Gadigal is ready for the next steps in the long journey ahead.
